PETITGRAIN

*received as part of a mystery bag purchase*
This is another I would never have purchased on my own, because I have petitgrain essential oils and found them very strong and bitter. But I'm glad I got this one in my mystery bag, because of course Simbi's is different. This one does start out bitter, but it's oh so beautiful in a cold-throw medium like diffusers. I used this one in several different blends with other Simbi oils that I wanted to give a citrus boost to (like Hollywood Chateau, and White Tea & Thyme), and this one transformed the cold throws of the other scents.
While it starts out bitter, the sophistication of bergamot and the sunny zing of orange quickly support the aroma.
I also combined this with a vanilla for perfume, using roughly 30/70 blend at 10% in PA and it's a gorgeous, elevated summer scent.

Out of bottle I mostly smell the top and heart notes (like a green citrus scent) but in the HT it is grounded by the earthy, woodsy base notes. To my nose, it's a clean, earthy, woodsy, citrus, green scent. This scent evokes carefree summer days, but also transports me to Mediterranean grove/garden.

Used 7.5% in coconut soy wax blend. CT 8/10 HT 8.5/10

I expected this to be just another citrusy scent but it wasn't at all. It so pretty, I immediately made a perfume roller bottle for myself and put some in my kitchen sink soap dispenser. I am calling this one Green Goddess in my shop because it just has the green citrus scent with a touch of grounding goodness. I really liked this one more than I expected!

Ya'll -- this is special! Grounded, earthy, green -- with just the right amount of citrus to lighten it up. It's like bringing outside into your living room. Real outside. At 8% in Ceda Serica, this had 9/10 HT for me.

Such a unique earthy scent, and blends to create new scent blends so amazingly well. It’s truly like stepping through a doorway into the beautiful outdoors!
