The Gramercy

If you love cade oil, this is for you. If you're unfamiliar with cade oil, it's a strong, smoky, woody aroma, that can smell like smoldering woods at a campfire. Cade can be VERY strong, so I am very pleased at how it was layered here. There's an earthy, citrus, that's sweet and aged, and seductive all the same. The orange provides lift, with the cocoa adding sweetness and the vanilla rounding it out. All of the heart notes give it a grounded, Rooty, earthy element, and the transition into the musky/tobacco/cade base is just perfection.

For those who aren't used to heavy, deep, rich, resinous aromas, you can't judge this out of the bottle. Make a small sample of this at 5% in wax and observe how all the notes bloom. In perfume, 10% is a gorgeous sweet spot.

When made properly, you should have the orange, cocoa, vanilla, and a gorgeous slightly smokey, woods, musk just like the photo. If all of the notes aren't presenting themselves to you, use less until you can pick up on everything. When you find the sweet spot, you'll know, and you'll be hooked moving forward.

OOB it smells medicinal--which it still keeps that even in soy wax. I wanted to love it, but it just smells like a vintage old hospital. Not my favorite. Maybe I will try mixing it with another scent from Simbi...

I love this scent and I think when I first purchased these scents a couple years ago I used them to concentrated and the scent does better when used in different strengths. This scent is great bc it’s not too sweet or perfumey. It’s reminds me of an expensive gift shop w/different clean people mingling about. I don’t know how describe it but it’s an upper crust type of scent, a little herble and slightly Smokey but only in the best pipe smoke type………lovely if you don’t like sweet or overly feminine scents.

Nothing wrong with this scent just not my cup of tea- very complex as all simbi scents are!
